SHX font doesn't present Hebrew in the text content

Hi,

I have received some DWG files in Hebrew from a client. I opened them in the AutoCAD LT 2021 and I see the Hebrew.

However, when I click a text, I can see the Style (which is the simpleheb.shx), but the contents is symbols and not Hebrew.

I tried changing the font to common Hebrew (Arial, Aharoni), but the text changed to symbols and gibberish.

How can I solve the problem?

Thanks

Fouad

Do you have that font installed on your computer, fonts are Windows files and need to be present before AutoCAD can use them.

Hi,

The fonts are in SHX format and they are in the fonts folder under the AutoCAD program files folder.

How I can install them in Windows? I didn't find the option for that.

Thanks

That is the correct method, just double check they are in the correct version folder. I have 3 versions of AutoCAD installed on my computer! the font files would need to be in the correct folder for each of those versions.

Hi,

Yes, they are under the right AutoCAD version.

It looks like the simpleheb.shx font is not Unicode although AutoCAD presented the text in a correct visual. However, the actual content doesn't show Hebrew.

Any idea for a solution?

Ask the file creator for assistance you are probably not the first to ask them.
Also find out what program they are using, they/you both may need to do a lot more together to fix the issue.

In the meatime...
Did you restart AutoCAD after dropping the fonts in the fonts folder? Required.
If you start STYLE command, does AutoCAD show a yellow triangle next to the font name? It means it is not found if there is one.
