Setting text angle

I have just recently had to reinstall my 2011 LT. because it stopped launching.

When inserting text the editor does not accept the my pointer devices location to set the text angle. Text can only be input horizontal.

The text can be rotated afterwards, no problem but this is time consuming and annoying

So the problem is only with this one file? Or all files?
Start a new blank drawing: still have this problem?

Is PLAN command set to match your current UCS? It needs to be.

The problem seems to have sorted itself once I re-started my computer, though I thought the text angle updated in the dynamic input window when setting the angle. Whilst this doesn't happen, once the text has been entered the text appears as intended.
