Selecting attributes within multiple blocks

Hi All,

I have a large drawing of a building which contains many 'planks' theses are illustrated with blocks of various colours and with in the blocks they have 5 different bits of information. I need to select the blocks using one of the attributes within the block.

Is there a 'quick select' way of doing this?

I've attached a couple of pictures to hopefully help explain.

Thanks

Ed

the lisp code will require following info

block name

attribute tag name

attribute value in this tag to find

Then when you run the code it will first create a select set of all blocks matching block name, loop through each block looking for attribute tag name and when matched get the value. When there’s a value match place block into new selection set. At end of code will return selection of matches found if any

I don’t think with the Find command you can filter out specific Blocks by name

Even if that was not a question in the thread, the user is very welcome to select certain blocks BEFORE or AFTER using FIND.

However, I understand the original question so that he needs no or just a simple window or cross selection

and then -> FIND to filter for Attributvalues -> Select all

done

Hi chaps,

The 'Find' command worked really well and I was able to select and change multiple blocks but it hasn't let me select the blocks. I need to select them so I can add a shading to them.

Paul, I dont really understand what your suggestion was. Code?

Thanks for any help,

Ed.

Hi,

>>" but it hasn't let me select the blocks."

Either your program is too old and does not know the possibility yet,
or you need to get more familiar with the function.

Which program are you using? Command: ABOUT

I need to select them so I can add a shading to them.
