Seeking Macro for Block Replace (Same as Express Tools Version)

Hello.

My office uses LT & I'd love a macro to duplicate the BLOCKREPLACE command that is available in the full version's Express Tools. Is there a way to create it such that I can replace, for example, 5 of 20 block instances as opposed to a global replace? Landscape architecture involves a lot of plant (read block) changes & this would save me so much time!

Thanks, everyone. This forum is always so helpful.

To the best of my knowledge, 'BLOCKREPLACE' will only replace all blocks of a given name and not just a select few. To do that then even full AutoCAD users need to use a specialist LISP program.

There is a thread here that discusses various options available to LT users, probably the best one for your case is given by @h_s_walker in post 7 of that thread using a dynamic block with visibility states, you can select just certain blocks in a drawing and swap the visibility state in the properties toolpalette. But it does require some change to your workflow and of course the creation of a dynamic block.

Thank you so much for the help. That's a great tip. I watched an AutoCAD U video on dynamic blocks last night & he did something similar with fastener heads. I think it could work but we use hundreds of blocks for different plants so I don't know if it's practical. I wish we just had the full version bc it's a feature we need and would save us heaps of time.

I really appreciate the response. Have a great day.
