Search and replace options for wildcard

Greetings,

I would love it if Autocad LT could do sequential numbering but that does not seem to be an option that I can find. Therefore having to enter things manually is enough of a pain on it's own. Right now, when I need to make a change I have tried using the "#", "*". and "?" as wildcards, which works for finding these sequential numbers within the text, but when I want to leave the numbers alone it changes them...  For Example

TR1-1+

TR1-2+

TR1-3+

TR1-4+

If I want to insert an extra character like TR1-1T+,  TR1-2T+, etc...  The wildcard search "TR1-#+" works to find them, but when I enter "TR1-#T+" in order to leave the wildcard itself in place and just add the "T" in the appropriate place, it changes my number to the wildcard symbol I used (#,@,?, whatever)

How can I get it to leave the wildcard number as is? Am I stuck continuing to enter every single update manually? (especially annoying inside of block attributes and such)

Ed

Here is a good explanation on how wildcards can be used: http://www.engineering.com/DesignSoftware/DesignSoftwareArticles/ArticleID/11764/6-Ways-to-Use-Wildc...

By the way, sequential numbering macros for LT users are posted all over this forum and through a good web search if you'd rather explore than option. Here is one of many https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-lt-forum/numbering-sequentially/m-p/3644338#M109516
