Scale command-specify base point-type R for reference-pick first point on known dimension-pick second point on dimension-type in actual length.

What scale is the source PDF? Or does it even have a scale? Find out, that will answer your own question on how much to rescale it by once you have it in AutoCAD.

I'll generally draw a line the length of a given dimension on the PDF and scale much as suggested above.

Especally if I don't need real tight accuracy

@Anonymous,

Did any of the post's in this thread help with answering your question about scaling a PDF in AutoCAD?

To add you could try as mentioned here;

  • ALIGN (Command)
    • Draw a line that is at the proper length (Ex: If the dimension shows 25', draw a line at that length)
    • Type ALIGN into the command line and press Enter
      • Alternatively you can find this command on the Modify Panel on the Home Tab in the Ribbon
    • Select the image you want to scale and press Enter
    • Specify the first source point, and then click the corresponding destination point.
    • Specify the second source point, and then click the corresponding destination point
    • Press Enter to continue
    • Select Y for yes to scale the objects based on the alignment points
  • SCALE (Command)
    • Type SCALE into the command line and press Enter
      • Alternatively you can find this command on the Modify Panel on the Home Tab in the Ribbon
    • Select the image you want to scale and press Enter
    • Click at the base point
    • Press R for reference
    • Click at the first point of the known dimension, then select the end point of said dimension
    • Enter the "true length" of said dimension and press Enter

Hello. I came across another problem after following the steps you listed using the scale command. Dimensions in one axis are ok but dimensions in the perpendicular direction are still wrong. How can we solve this problem please. Thanks

Hello,
I had the same problem than you, and I realized that it was that I did not select all the objects. Try it again, go back press ctrl+z and start again, make sure to select all the objects at this time. Good Luck
