Rotated UCS on Startup

I had a new and clean install of AutoCAD 2016 LT and the program started normally with the UCS facing upward as usual. I created an AutoCAD 360 account and it sync'd my settings. I then opened a drawing which had a rotated UCS, made edits, and closed the file. Every time I now open AutoCAD, it starts the program with a rotated UCS. I have tried using the PLAN command to have the UCS put back to the default setting, and then resync my 360 Account, but it didn't work.

I just want my UCS and cursor to be normal on screen each time I start a new drawing.

Thanks.

I don't know what A360 is doing to it, but the UCS setting is saved in the drawing, per viewport.

If you save a drawing with WCS current, and you close it and re-open it and it's not in WCS - then something is changing it at startup.

If you are starting a NEW drawing and it's not in WCS, then this must be how the template that you are using was last saved. Fix the template.

Hi and Welcome to AutoDesk Forum,

>> I just want my UCS and cursor to be normal on screen each time I start a new drawing. <<

maybe you have to check your template file (dwt) BUT first let's try to reset autocad for default settings HERE.

UCS command is used to put back the default settings of the UCS: PLAN is used to simply follow the UCS setting. Do you need to fix the UCS first?

>>>...opened a drawing which had a rotated UCS, made edits, and closed the file...<<<
The program doesn't know what your default preference is and does not have a function built in to reset files. UCS is a per-file per-tab setting that you ahve to change yourself on purpose.

Hope that helps.

PS: no amount of resetting is going to change that user-input-required reality.

Yes, I think I need to fix the UCS first. Although I have no way of fixing the default setting.

The default setting of what? UCS?

There is no default setting, it's stored per drawing, per viewport.

As the others said, it is probably a change that was made to your template that is opening by default- commonly the "acadlt.dwt" file for LT users.  Open that file, adjust the UCS back to what you want (I assume WCS?) and save it as a ".dwt" NOT a .dwg.  Save it as "acadlt.dwt" if that was the original name, overwrite that template with your new UCS/WCS setting, and when you open new drawings, it should be correct.
