Right click menu

Why is my right click menu missing. This just started happening today. I recently returned to autocad from many years of using solidworks so I am not to date on the finer points. For example, I want to join several lines into an polyline, I select one line and I used to  right click for my options (join, width, spline, etc). I no longer have those options in the right click menu. they are down in the command line only which I find incredibly annoying. What changed, and how. I'd like to know if I changed something accidentally so that I can avoid doing it again. or fix it on my own if it happens again

Hi @Anonymous,  Enter command OPTIONS and enter then go to User Preferences tab and click on Right-click Customization button. Then under Command Mode select either Shortcut Menu: always enabled or Shortcut Menu: enabled when command options are present.

Edit:  You can also press the F12 key to turn on Dynamic Input and the options will pop up without right clicking

OK, so now my right mouse button doesn't close the the command? I liked it when i would type "L", draw a line, and right click to exit the command. is there no way to get back to that? How was it changed? any idea what I did to get to this point?

Have you tried turning dynamic input on with the F12 key? That way the options will pop up autocratically and you can change the  command mode option to ENTER so right click will end the command.

I appreciate your help, but just hitting the F12 key doesn't seemed to change anything. 😞

What version are you using? I think dynamic input started in 2006.

I am using AutoCAD LT 2015. It would also be nice if I had a record button to record repeated commands. That doesn't seem to be an option either. Even the Almighty Google couldn't help me with that one

Download the above then you can record what's happening and post it here

My frustration continues to grow...

I can't download and run software without admin privileges. They won't do it because it's not on the "approved software list". I need a new job in a real company

Tell them it's AutoCAD software and you need it on your machine to show people the problems you're experiencing.

Not an option in LT, thats something only available in full Autocad, creating repeated strings of commands is down to Macro's in LT and you have to write those yourself, no magic buttons I'm afraid

And if you want right click to do both "enter" and menu then try this and just pause slightly,
