Please see dwg "L Stairs". I changed the lines and put them on "0 Layer" and they are "color by layer" (white).
They are referenced into a dwg called "L Stairs Anno" where they are also white. Correct.
Please see dwg Sheet 1, on the drawings A7.1 or A7.2 the lines are red. They should have updated to white. Why not?

Have you tried putting those Lines on a new layer name instead of 0?
RED is the color of your 0-VPRT layer in the top file (SHEET1): changing that changes your XREF color. You got what you asked for basically.
Using a viewport color override also changes the color in that viewport without affecting the actual color red, if that 0-VPRT layer must always stay red for whatever reason

Thank you, I did so and the lines show correctly. But when I go to pdf A7.2 or A7.3 those stair plans do not print! Why do you think that is?
As @pendean pointed out that the stairs are placed on layer 0-VPRT
That layer is currently set to NoPlot:
So you won't see the stairs placed on that layer when attempting to plot
You are welcome…cheers!!!
Thank you for your recent reply. My layers window does not offer such detail. I am using AutoCAD LT for Mac 2024. Why does my layers window look SO different?
I attach a screen shot to show you how little information mine shows.
@JEFFJW9BB You're better of posting in the MAC forums. The link is below
