"not allowed during reference editing" bug

I receive this error when I enter the xref command, after I have already saved and closed the reference object. I suspect this is a bug because I can successfully run the qsave command and save the file. Anyone else experience this in the 2020 release of ACAD LT?

Are you talking about the xref manager, inserting xref's or the refedit command?

I haven't noticed any problems with xrefs in LT 2020, but I don't use them regularly. Could you describe step by step exactly what you are doing from opening a drawing to starting the xref manager to see if we can recreate this? Or is it just random or maybe only certain drawings?

The error message simply states you are in REFEDIT command, nothing more. Since you wrote this only appears "..after I have already saved and closed the reference object..." I suspect perhaps you did not fully exit REFEDIT command.

Are you running LT2020.1.2 version as listed in ABOUT command?

Step 1. Refedit a block.
Step 2. Save and close the block/reference.
Step 3. Attempt to launch xref manager via XR command.
Step 4. Receive said error.

CADffm
1. Do you Refedit a BLOCK or a XREF?

2. Open Acad LT, open the File, start Refedit and Refsave(save), start XR... []

<the message appears now, right?> ok

    Command: REFEDITNAME

    Command: REFCLOSE

    Command: DWGNAME

    Command: DWGPREFIX

    Command: COPYHIST

Now, open Text Editor, Word, Notepad.. CTRL+V, save the file and share them with us.

3. Good question: Is it only if you use Revclose SAVE or when you use Revclose NOT SAVE too?

4. If it happen only in one or some files: Please share your file inc. xrefs

I think the better question is "Why can I not copy and paste, hide/isolate objects, edit blocks, etc etc etc. while in refedit mode?"

Program limitation: you can ask Autodesk for a future version where that is not the case, then wait 1-2-5-10-20years for it to appear to do what you need. here is the link for the ask https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

For today and until that happens, you can use XEDIT on that XREF then reload it when done to keep working.

Why would that be a better question in a thread where the answrs wouldn't have anything to do with that question?

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

There wouldn't be a "bug" if there wasn't a nest. Also this is what a
search brought me to when I looked for "why are some commands not usable in
refedit".

That doesn't change the fact that you are off topic.
