Problems creating customised palettes

Hello group!

Been a while since last time I needed help...

I once created customised toolpalettes and toolbars with customised blocks and commands when I worked for a former company back in 2008, so I'm "aware" of what the steps are for doing this... but with this version (LT 2020.1.3, haven't work with Cad or Lt in last 4 years) I think i'm missing something...

Now:

-blocks created in my masterfile

-palette created

-when I use DesignCenter to drag my block to the palette: doesn't work or transfers...

What am I missing??

thanks in advance for the time you'll give me!

regards

Mart

2020 is the same as 2008 I believe:
start ADCENTER
go to the folder that contains your blocks (it needs to be in your stock search paths)
right-click on that folder then select CREATE TOOLPALETTE FROM BLOCKS

Not much else to it.

That's the problem...

We can either right click on block and create a pallette with it, or right click on the std palette to add a new palette and then drag the block from DesignCenter...

End result is the same: nothing adds in the palette... it's stays empty...

I'm creating everything on my local so to better test and run everything before moving everything on the server (and review all the paths)...

here's how I'm currently set-upped...

You might have something else going on with your AutoCAD session or Windows Profile: it works fine for an office full of people over here.

Your blocks folder(s) location(s) need to be listed here (you may need to restart AutoCAD, and probably should after adding them):

Why? that's a total waste of time and will also require you to fix everything manually after the move, and adding those new paths to your search. Do it once.

I know... but we'll have a major network rework... so I'm still going to go thru everything anyway... can't save me the trouble...

Back to 1st topic, it still doesn't work...

the only way it works so far is if I insert them to an existing palette, delete the unwanted items and rename the palette...

any hints?

I would wait until you have your network in place before diving into this endeavor: in the meantime, for you and everyone else, use ADCENTER for inserting blocks into your files.
