Printing white onto black paper

Hi. I was wondering if someone knew the procedure for printing white lines
etc onto black paper from LT.

Regards,

Alfie

Re: Printing inverse image
Set all entities to pen 255, the 'other' white. make sure
the plot style table settings for that pen number are
dither=off, grayscale=off, pen#=automatic, color=use object
color, screening=0.

Now draw a solid hatch behind the drawing, color 7. Use
heavy stock paper if all you got is an inkjet, have a spare
ready as this will cost you a lot more than a Kinko's trip.

It doesn't sound as though you need the background as you already have black paper but the pen setting may give you what you need.
I'm sure there will be other solutions posted.

Yes, I already have the black 'background' 'cos the paper is black but will
try as mentioned. A friend also suggested changing ctb file for relevant
colours to colour 247,251,245 which is quite close to white.

There have only been a handful of printers ever made that could use white
ink, and AFAIK, none are made today. Most printer/plotter inks are either
opaque black or transparent colors, which let the background (and other ink
colors) "mix" to form the full array of colors. No white. One printer that
could actually print in white was made by ALPS, but it hasn't been made for
several years; you may be able to find one on the used market, but it will
be difficult.

My advice would be to simply print using black on white, and then take your
document to a reprographics service bureau and have them make a photographic
reversal.

Your friend mis-informed you, unless you know for a fact
your printer or plotter can produce white or near-white ink.
Consult that manufacturer's website or printer features, or
tell everyone here what you got.

Can you provide more details and your DWG file(s) that are not working please? We all can PLOT to B/W, GRAYSCALE and COLOR all day long from our own DWG files in AutoCAD 2025 and earlier, nothing has changed.
