PLotting issues - inconsistant

I am running AC-2007 LT. Often I get the following command after entering the plot for a drawing. This does not happen all the time but frequently enough that it is very troublesome and time consuming to overcome. Can anyone give me insight on what needs to be done? Appears to be a driver issue.
Error response:
Printer driver for HP DesignJet printers in Windows NT has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Some HP drivers have done this in the past, I've never
noticed a fix. Try a search here or through Google.com and
see if there ever has been one you can use.

We found this happened if the pathname\filename was too long. Setting
variable FULLPLOTPATH = 0 (zero) should fix it.
