PDF Import missing lines?

Anonymous

I converted a PDF to dwg in Autocad LT and cannot get only one page to import correctly. Only certain lines show up but the majority of them do not. I had no problem importing the other building plan pages to Autocad but this one does not work correctly. I would really appreciate the help thank you!

Hi,

if there is no line, ACAD can not import a line..

PDFIMPORT can extract VECTOR data from a PDF.

If you don't know how to check this,

run a simple test: Import the page into an empty dwg and set RASTER option on.

If can can see the line now(as Rasterimage reference), the no line, it's just a picture(raster / pixel data).

Ok got it. Let me rephrase my problem. Whenever I try PDFimport only certain vectors get converted, not the background geometry (such as such as doors and stairs). When I use the PDF as an underlay, I can see the background geometry and even the cursor snaps to their endpoints when I go over it. Thats the only time the background geometry is recognized. The problem is that I need everything, including the background geometry, to convert. What can I do?

Share yours files, then we can check the PDF data and the DWG data.

1. Your PDF

2. Your DWG(new file, template acad.dwt or acadiso.dwt, then import the PDF, saveas)

Post a PDF that behaves like that please, let everyone here explore it in person.

Hi,

As @cadffm said those geometries which don't import are actually raster images. Have you tried to import the PDF with the option of "raster images" enabled as shown in the screenshot below? Here is how you check if the data on the PDF is raster by zooming the PDF when opened in the PDF reader to 1500% and you see them fuzzy like in the screenshot.

There are also chances that sometimes the geometries from the PDF do get imported but the color of the geometries will be 0,0,0 or any darker color which blends them with the background color of the model space and would look like the geometries from the PDF are not imported.

Does your PDF also contain layer information, do you maybe have a layer turned off or frozen?
