Opening in multiple windows instead of tabs (2023)

I am trying to open multiple drawings in one window but when I click a drawing in file explorer while already having AutoCADLT open, it will open a brand new window instead of a new tab in that existing window.

At the command line type SDI. Change the value to 0

it is already set to that, still opening in new windows. TASKBAR is also set to 0.

Have you updated the latest version of AutoCAD?

What version of windows are you using?

Ah looks like there's a new "SDI" command in 2023. I can't find it at the moment.

EDIT: @amandaVNANM looks like the value should be 1 and not 0

You need to do this after LT2023 installs, it breaks it for some unknown reason and why you get what you get https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/DWG-file...
"Solution:
To associate DWG files with AutoCAD DWG Launcher ...."

It is now giving me this message since our files were made with 2022 and I uninstalled AutoCAD 2022.

You have to open LT2023, open a file, do "something", close the file, close the LT2023 program, then DWGLAUNCHER will work just fine.

FWIW you should never EVER remove an older version of AutoCAD/LT until you are 100% positive after a month or three that the newer version is working perfectly 100%. A lesson we have all learned across the years.

it looks as though there is not a 2023 autocad launch, only 2022

Weird indeed: I am not having that issue here in Win10 and LT2023 (and I have LT2022 and T2021 on the same computer).

yup I have Win10 Pro and re-installed the 2022. I guess I can wait till the first update and see if it can be fixed!

You can also start a support ticket through your subscription portal as explained here to report the problem, they might has a fix or workaround in the meantime https://knowledge.autodesk.com/customer-service/account-management/users-software/support-options#:~....

It seems I can't get this working. I tried the SDI command line and going into the properties and changing the default app. Other than contacting support, anything else?

@echarrison explain in more detail how exactly you are opening DWG files, what is your OS, and what year-version is your AutoCAD/LT please.
