Object moving to random place

Hi,

Needing some quick help here. When I click onto an object then try and move it say to the right by 100mm the object just jumps to a random place on the screen.

I have just recently had been giving a laptop by the company which Autocad 2021 has just been installed. I link my laptop to a monitor when at work and at home.

Please help as this is driving me mad.

Thanks

Chris

AutoCAD doesn't do random.

Please describe, step by step, how you are attempting to move an object.

My guess is it has something to do with input settings.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Do you just need to turn off any running osnaps to ensure you are not clicking on other objects?
Or do you need a quick refresher on moving objects a specific distance in a specific direction?

Or are you touching 3D objects in rotated UCS scenario and are not familiar with how to draft in that environment?

Let us know what is really going on, there is not much "random" anything in AutoCAD/LT.

Got this sorted just after I posted it. Total school boy error. Because I'm not used to my new laptop I had Num Lock on!!! Embarrassing I know but thanks for the response.

I do have another question in which could help me please:

are Zoom extents and Zoom all the same? When I zoom all the page everything is fine but when I double click the roller on the mouse the page seems to scale and I get a double line bottom tool bar where the 'Model/Layout' tabs are.

It gets quite annoying after a while to be honest.

Thanks

Nope, Extents and ALL are very different options for ZOOM.
