No menus in AutoCAD LT 2014 running on Windows 8 - how can I get this resolved?

The menus that were along the top of the LT window since I first installed the product years ago have now disappeared, rendering the product unusable. I need to get back to where I was on Monday or else my software is nothing more than an expensive space holder in my system.

 

I uninstalled LT and reinstalled it - no change.

 

So far - no response - is there another source of help at Autodesk? This is the first problem I have encountered that required support but it has stopped production and I really need to get an answer.

 

So - two questions - how do I get AutoCAD LT 2014 back to its original state, and if there is no answer for that, where else can I go to get some help on this issue. It is getting to be very frustrating and I need to get back to work.

Okay, updated, again, rebooted the computer, and got a screen capture, also, I don't know what caused the menus to disappear in the first place - I was working, then the menus went away. Clearly I pressed the wrong button, but I could not find a way to back that out, nor restore the menus.

At the commandline, type RIBBON then hit the <enter> key on your keyboard. What happens?

 

At the commandline, type WORKSPACE then it <enter> on your keyboard, then type ? then hit <enter> again: the commandline will show two or three names at the bottom, name them here.

Does resetting to defaults help? Has this happened in the past.

 

At the top-left of the application window, on the right end of the Quick Access toolbar, click the drop-down menu Show Menu Bar.

 

Post back if you are still having a problem with the menubar

I think there was a Windows update - one of those updates that occur when you turn off your system.

 

I have not updated the graphics card.

 

I cannot find an AutoCAD or Autodesk section in the Windows program list - if I right click the down arrow I get a list of programs and a search function. If I enter "AutoCAD" I get several options, but none of them lead to a "restore" function. There is an import/export but I need to enter a file name to import what it is I want to restore, and I don't know the file name or the path to that file.

If you have Windows 8 Operating System:
1. Click the Windows button to access the Start Screen.
2. Right-click the bottom of the screen.
3. Click the down arrow to access all the installed apps.
4. In the AutoCAD/LT 2014 section (usually to the far right), click "Reset Settings to Default."

Or if you have Windows 8.1 Operating System:
1. Click the Windows button to access the Start Screen.
2. Move your cursor down and click the down arrow to access all the installed apps.
3. In the AutoCAD/LT 2014 section (usually far to the right), click "Reset Settings to Default."

Well, that was it - all you had to do was overcome my inability to operate the down arrow in Windows 8, accepting that searching for AutoCAD was not the same as scrolling until I found the "Reset" button, and two nights of insomnia - I cannot thank you enough. I appreciate your patience with me as you taught me about this forum and in particular, the snipping tool - learn something every day, right? Anyway, all is as it was, and I am back to work. I thank you, my customers thank you and next time I will try to do better in how I approach a problem.

Thank you for solving the same issue I recently experienced with my 2014 Autocad Lt.  I was able to reset the settings to default and the command ribbon was visible and useful once again!  Thank you!
