Your post got cut off... .

Looks like either the tool or the content it is trying to create is damaged, from the snippits you posted. You cannot fix the tool without a removal and reinstall which may damage what you are trying to migrate.

Hi,

Can you check if updating/Reinstalling the Microsoft XML helps?

To do this, go through Add or Remove Programs and uninstall everything that starts with "MSXML" and then download and install both of the following:

MSXML 4.0 Service Pack 3 (Microsoft XML Core Services)
Microsoft Core XML Services (MSXML) 6.0 Service Pack 1

I hope this helps.

Unfortunately that didn't work. I still get the error. BUT here is the question now. Do I need it?

It creates a zip file which I cannot open using Windows (I get a blank explorer screen) However using WinRar shows me relevant directorys and files.

Hi,

Please can you provide more information about from what release do you what to export and the release to import?

Are they installed in the same machine?

Are the same language?

The error message appears when you export or when you import?

Thanks

I'm only trying to export to create a backup. The error is written exactly as I see it in my original post.

Using Autocad LT 2012 on a Windows XP machine.

If I may... what is it you want to backup exactly? Be specific, otherwise for a generic "backup" your PC should have that in place already. Right?

No our system is full of holes Dean. I've have custom tabs and plotter styles, which I know "Migrate custom settings" collects. I am trying to get a backup of these without having to hunt everywhere for them.

Hi,

If the Zip file is created, can you try to import it in a different machine to see if the migration data was created correctly?, the XML error can be from the XML report visualization of the data migrated, that will not affect the data exported.

Hi,

You can just create a new Windows user on the same machine, log in with it and try to import to check if all migration was succesfully....

Cheers

Hi,

This error means that the package was not created succesfully. Probably will be a good idea to run a repair in your AutoCAD LT 2012 installation and try to generate again the zip file.
