Measure fly out Distance doesn't seem to work

Hello,

I'm a student, working through my excersises. I've AutoCAD LT (Trial version) installed.

I now am working on the measure tool> Distance. So a select this, go to point A, click, go to point B, click, and nothing happens. There is, however a question mark (?) in the selection cross; does that mean anything? Did I miss something? 

Any help is welcome!

The results of the distance command are shown on the command line. You can press F2 to see more rows if needed

Why not try the command DIST instead, still "nothing"?
