I am running AutoCAD LT 2018 and when I try and add a hatch to my drawing only a few of the patterns work.

Maybe the hatch pattern is too large to see and need to change the hatch scale on the ribbon while trying to hatch with certain patterns.

Try Reset your AutoCAD.

I think some of the patterns in the PAT file got damaged.

What exactly is 'don't work', blank area, completely filled area, different pattern?

I thought that initially but then I chose a different pattern and "poof" it worked...

So annoying!!!

Which hatch pattern names are you trying to use?
What size area are you trying to place the hatch in?

Be specific so we can try and replicate them here, we can't help you if your responses remain generic. Thanks.

There are many that won't load but specifically I was trying to use "gravel"and it was a small area.

What size is your "small area", and what are the settings for GRAVEL if you pull up the Hatch command pop-up?
Also confirm, is your file set to ISO (metric) or not? Those are two different hatch definitions in AutoCAD and in each file so you need to know which is being used.

Again, be very specific so we can replicate your conditions: Gravel and all other hatches work just fine here for all of us so give us exact parameters to replicate your issue.

The real issue is that only a few of the patterns work. I don't make any changes and roll over the patterns and a few work and the rest don't show up at all. I understand the need for specifics and will provide when I get back to my desk but it appears the files are corrupt or not there at all

An area will not hatch if the scale is too large or too small, or if the area is not a "closed" shape

The issue is the area hatches just only with certain patterns

Do the other hatches work on other shapes?

Also remember the "scale" could be different for each hatch.

The image below is a 10x10 square hatched with three different hatches all at 1 scale.

The left hatch is ANGLE. The middle hatch is AR-B816. The right hatch is AR-CONC.

To even see the concrete hatch I have to change to scale to something small (0.1). If I then change it back to 1 the hatch disappears.

Also scale can be a factor. Remember hatches aren't created to the same scale.

resetting seems to have fixed the issues I was having

it had something to do with scaling the patterns but couldn't get them to work until I reset

it had to do with scaling but i think my files were damaged b/c the scaling needed to make some of a pattern show up did not make any sense and I could never get the entire pattern to show up- weird

i reset the defaults and now everything seems to be working

thanks for trying to help

Just a reminder, back in the day if a drawing got too far away from 0,0 some hatches would freak out.

This happened to us when drawing on top of civil files that could be miles away from 0,0 bc of mapping with Acad Civil.
