Autocad LT Start Screen Drawing list

Autocad LT Start Screen Drawing list

I just noticed this the last few days.  When I open autocad or even if it has been open and I go to the start screen, the list of drawings shown is not listed in LAST SAVED order.  It is listed in LAST OPENED order.  I know this wasn't the case before, but I don't know how this could have changed.

Does anyone know how I can change it back?  I know its probably super simple and I'm overthinking this.

Thanks!

This is not what I was asking about. That is from the file drop down menu
for file open. I'm talking about AutoCAD LT 2018 where you have a start tab
where you can choose a new drawing/template or open a pinned drawing or
open recent drawings. The recent drawings are currently listed as last
opened. I've always had it listed as last saved. I'm trying to figure out
how to change it back.

This is where you probably need to post a screenshot of what you are looking at/talking about... .

You are correct.  Please take a look and let me know if anyone else has this issue or knows where to change this setting.  Thanks!

I know that. I'm sorry. What I meant is that the start screen is does not
offer me any kind of options or changes to the lists. At least not that I
can tell. Nothing obvious. I just know I didn't change anything but I
know it is different than before because sometimes I will open a drawing
and leave it open for a day or two but will open other drawings in the
meantime, but then save it tonight and then tomorrow morning it won't be
the top of the list because it is listed in order opened, not order saved.

I feel like I'm not explaining this correctly.

No I understand exactly.

You want your files to appear in last saved DATE ORDER (most recently saved at top), unfortunately that doesn't look like a setting in AutoCAD

EDIT: Looks like "BY ORDERED LIST" is supposed to be date last saved.

Might I suggest a more practical fix, if you don't mind losing the almost-useless "start" tab: set STARTMODE variable to 0 (that's a zero), set STARTUP variable to 1 (that's a one), close and restart LT2018. Do you like this approach better? My need is similar to yours, and this is the best way to do it IMHO.

I suppose I could do that but I like utilizing the "improvements" from
version to version and when they implemented the start tab a few versions
back along with the updated menu bars, I opted not to display the classic
view so I could be forced to learn the newer layouts. I am still not
convinced that there isn't a way to change this setting because I know I
didn't use it this before.

Thanks and if I cannot get an answer maybe this will be the only option for
me then.

So tell me: what does the START tab do to improve your productivity? maybe I;m missing something, I'd like to learn how you find it practical to use.

It has nothing to do with productivity as it does with making things easier I guess.  They developed this start tab and granted not every new idea is a good idea, but I got used to using it.

I can definitely set the variable to 0 so there is no start tab, but that's a workaround.  If I can get it back to the way it was before this happened, why not determine the cause and then change/fix it?  That's all I am saying.

I am not a fan of the workaround when the "fix" exists.

This is not a workaround, it's a built-in deliberately designed alternate to the START tab.

So you only want the START tab because it's there? So when it is gone, you'll not care for it anymore? Interesting approach.

FWIW for the START tab, the only 'solution' you can do was posted in replies #7 and #11 above. Nothing else has existed since the START tab showed up a few versions back.

You don't have to mean or condescending with your responses. Thank you for
your input. I will mark one of them as the solution and end this topic.
