Make spacebar repeat last command

In AutoCAD 2019 (I think it was) when I would use the measure command, I could just hit the spacebar to do the measurement again by picking a point to start from. In 2021, hitting the spacebar does some sort of quick measure which doesn't measure what I wanted to measure in the first place. Also, I used to be able to hit the spacebar to repeat inserting a block. Now it just opens the block pallet. I am a keyboard shortcut user, not a clicker. How do I set 2021 to do things the old way?

Thanks!

I think / it sounds you just select the wrong command, that's all?

Command: DIST

No, not it. I guess I just do not know how to explain it.

Example: click distance button, pick point 1, pick point 2, escape to end. This is what I get.

Now, if I hit the spacebar to REPEAT this command, this is what I get....

As you can see, this is not what I want. How do I make hitting the spacebar, repeat what I did the first time?

In your second image, you say "this is what I get...." - but I don't see anything happening command-wise.

Can you elaborate as to what exact command you are executing initially (not the menu pick), and then what command is executing when you tap the space bar?

When I execute the .DIST command, pick two points, the command ends, showing me the result.

Tapping the space bar executes the .DIST command again.

Now that I look at it a little more closely, turns out clicking on the little icon that is supposed to be executing the DIST command, is actually executing the MEASUREGEOM command instead. A bug in the program maybe? Thank you for making me look at it a little closer. I am not losing my mind after all!

No bug, thats tge command you start with tgis button + the option distance of that command.

DIST is another command.

And: Enter repeats the last command (and it works), but not the last macro (so it starts the last command but not the option distance)

All file and the same as in older versions.

Right - no bug - just questionable UI/UX decisions.

Another is the floppy disc icon (Hey, 1992 called, they want their icon back...) in the QAT is titled "Save", but executes the "QSAVE" command, as does the "Save" menu item in the Application drop down menu, and in the old pull-down menu. But "Save" is a different command than "Qsave" --- EXCEPT in AutoCAD LT, where "save" and "qsave" do the same thing. Never understood that decision.
