Macro to explode the dwg

Hi,

I want to explode few drawings and change the current layer to Topo using a macro. I tried below macro, but the dawing doesn't exploded. it is asking me to select the objects again. Is there any wrong in this macro? I think the problem is with two times enter while selecting the objects. Can someone please help me.

           ^C^C_EXPLODE;All;;_clayer;Topo;

Your macro explodes all, then sets a layer. Does nothing else. Just like you wrote it. No other function is called. No changing of layers or anything else is being asked of the macro to do. Explore adding CHPROP and another ALL selection, explore that is HELP. Then remember to PURGE everything afterwards.

Consider an Upgrade:
- Explore using XPLODE command (yes, there is a missing E): lots of options aimed at your types of needs, including setting the destination layer. Just set CLAYER first in the macro.

I tried to run the macro ^C^C_explode;all;; in a new dwg by drawing two polylines. See the attacment, that is where I stopped again, still asking me to select objects. I still don't understand what wrong with this macro. I have to explode around 1000 drawings, is there any easy way to do that?

Wrong command, you totally ignored what I wrote: reread my first reply please. Ask if you don't understand, don't just recycle your old macro.

Plus I believe you have an extra <enter> at the end, CUI by default adds one at the end of every macro. I bet your Plines where already exploded, did you test them?

XPLODE command is what I suggested you try and it has no E at the beginning of the name: before you write the macro, experiment with it to understand how it fully works, what the commandline for options to choose.

Try again please. use the commandline to experiment and test your macro before you write it up and assume it will work. Writing the macro is the LAST thing you do when creating new tools.

Post back if you get stuck somewhere.
