Locking Command Line

I have a bit of an annoying problem in Autocad LT 2019.

My preference is to have the command line in the bottom left of the screen. I have it 'locked' there. However, when I open up a drawing it automatically moves it to the bottom - middle of the screen.

How can I get it to permanently stay in the bottom left?

(all floating windows, toolbars, etc. are checked as locked)

Are you actively saving your workspace with WSSAVE command after you move things around on screen? That's the best way for it to work all the time here.

Yes, I have re-saved the workspace after moving it back to the bottom left.

Are you using the default CUIx file, or do you use a corporate one centrally located on a server that you may be locked out from, or do you have an add-on/custom CUIx file loaded?

I am unable to repeat the problem here in LT2019 if I dock the commndline, save my workspace, savethe file I am in, close the program, restart it and open my file again. Note that LOCKUI is always off for me, I never use it.

I have a partial .cui file loaded.

Turn of LOCKUI variable.
CUIUNLOAD command to remove your partial CUIx file.
Move/dock your commandline.
WSSAVE command to save your workspace.
Close LT2019.
Restart LT2019; did it move? If not, CUILOAD command to put back your partial menu.

If it did move and stay, would I still be able to re-load the partial cui.



I'm sorry I haven't been able to try your solution yet but I am in a heavy
production environment and only allowed so much time for troubleshooting
unfortunately.

Yes, you can always reload your custom CUIx file anytime you want, the purpose of this test is to better identify if your primary CUIx is locked to stop you from editing it. In which case you have to try something completely different if your CAD Manager or IT will allow it.

I removed the partial cui, moved the command line to the lower left and re-started Autocad LT. It moved back top to the bottom middle of the screen.

You mentioned maybe needing a CAD manager or IT person. I guess I am the CAD Manager.

What else did you have in mind for a potential solution?

Did you remember to turn off LOCKUI before and manually save your workspace after you move the commandline and before you restarted LT?

I cannot replicate the issue here.

Yes to both. I saved the workspace through the menu at the bottom of the screen though. I doubt that would make a difference.

Hello Barry,

I'm coming in quite late on this. Did you ever get it sorted out? I am wondering if part of the command line overlaps another palette or other part of the user interface? Test shifting it over a little so it doesn't touch anything else.
