Lock the view of a viewport

Hello

I would like to know if there is a way to hard lock a viewport.

What I mean is that a certain viewport get "locked in time" and is ignoring all future layers that are coming in to the drawing.

Thanks

Carl

Not really, not in LT: it's still a very manual process involving you manually controlling layer settings inside each viewport AND keeping all layers in the file on/thawed in modelspace.

Perhaps these "frozen in time" items need to be their own DWG files that you XREF into other files when you need to add more information (I'm thinking of a base floor plan (frozen in time) xrefed into one DWG file for lighting, another DWG file for power, and so on.

Thanks for taking your time for answer. I see it might not be possible.. I will explain my situatuin and if you have a solution for it. I have the "base" DWG which others are using and xreffing in to. Their models are often on top of the viewports I described earlier - I just want to the viewport to ignore their models without going in and manually freeze them afterwards. Greatly appreciate if you take your time and answer this.

>>>..."base" DWG which others are using and xreffing in to...<<<
A "base" DWG file is meant to be XREFed into other files, not the other way around. A "base" DWG file is sacred, never to be altered or have anything added to it from other drawings or even edited by the masses, only edited by the few or one.

If I understand you current procedures and need, you folks seem to be doing things backwards. The way I describe gets you what you want.
