lineweights not changing

I'm a fairly new user to LT and am still using the free trial until purchase. My problem is in the layer property manager, when I try to change a layer's lineweight it displays in the property manager as the new weight, but nothing changes on the draw screen. When new objects are drawn on the layer they too do not have the correct lineweight. Color is correct but lineweight isn't. Any help would be appreciated.

Button LWT (Show/Hide Lineweight) at the bottom of the screen, besides SNAP, GRID etc.

Are you supposed to designate lineweights by plot style
table settings, screen color or on screen as suggested
above?

Most offices go one way or another, they don't mix and
match. If you don't have anyone to ask in your office, ask
the person you are going to deliver the drawings to when you
are done or the print shop you are going to send these files
to plot to, and save yourself some grief up front.

Then take a class somewhere or by a good book and go through
HELP in LT: this is not something you teach yourself, it's
too complex.

I may be experiencing the same lineweight issue. In the dimstyle manager box I choose the L.W.s ( and I notice a dashed line showing up just fine, but then they never print out. I'm taking classes in CAD. Everytime I've started a drawing in class (on the class computer, CAD 2005)) I've been okay, but if the drawing starts at home on my computer, (CADLT '06) then the lineweights don't print, even when file is moved to class. Also, my dim text, (but not the normal text - even though the same style employed on the mark) shows up way too big on the screen if the drawing started at home - settings checked and double checked every setting same as class, seems like a faulty software issue, any ideas???

No such 'fault software issue', it's always a setting
missed:

What do you mean by linewieghts, where and how do you set
them?
At home, are you using the 'classroom' DWG file or starting
your own? Are you using the classroom settings and
templates, or using your own? There seems to be a disconnect
between what you do at home and in class, can your 'teacher'
not provide any help to decipher the problem? Try asking and
bringing in your DWG file from home or taking the classroom
DWG home to test.

What are you printing to at home? Is this the same setup as
in the classroom? Do you use PC3 files? Do you use Plot
Style tables? Do you use Plines with Widths? Do you use
Lweight command?

Normal text? STYLE command determines text height, if you
set it to anything other than zero height Dim text appears
to be the wrong size. Check your textstyle selection in
Dimstyle pop-up command. Again, if you are using the
classroom DWG file it would show up fine, if you are making
your own file you are probably missing a setting.

I didn't realize that I had to enable this to make it visible. Thanks for the help!
