lineweight problem

Hi, i can't print different lineweights to pdf. To my best knowledge, all the settings are correct. The different lines have different colors. In de plot-style (.ctb file) the colors are matched to different lineweights. When I preview, de lineweights show. However, when I actually print to pdf (dwg to pdf) the different lineweights dissappear and all the lines have the same lineweight. what am i doing wrong?

This is a autocad problem, because on a different computer, same .dwg file, same plot-style, same version of autocad LT it does work.

Windows 11. Autocad LT2023 (we use older version because of other software working together with this version of autocad). It has worked before on this computer, I don't know what changed. I've already uninstalled, deleted the autodesk files in appdata, reinstalled it, so a real fresh installation in my opinion.

downloadlink for:

• dwg file
• pdf file where the different lineweights are incorrect
• screenshot of plotstyle
• screenshot of plot preview where the different lineweights are correct

thx in advance for your input 🙂

Is the ringed item in the image below in your plot dialog box ticked?

If it is I would suggest you copy the plot style file from the working computer and replace yours. They may have the same name, but the settings inside can be totally different.

hi,

thx for the fast reply.

The checkbox is indeed checked on both computers. That's why it shows the different lineweights in de preview. Both computers have the same plot style table. With the fresh reinstall i also had to copy the plot style table again in the designated map, so i know for a fact it is the correct plot style table with the same settings, because the computer got a fresh one.

Are you using the same PDF printer for both machines? Have you tried using the inbuilt PDF printers (see the image below) and not the DWG to PDF one?

yes, both using DWG to PDF.

Also tried all the other inbuilt PDF printers, same result, no different lineweights.

HOWEVER, when i print on microsoft print to PDF, it does print different lineweights!

But microsoft print to PDF has too few different paper formats, so that's not a real solution.

Can you post the drawing here and the style file, so we can see if we have the same problem?

@yorickMV9FM Your "gofile" downloads option are not working for us over here, sorry.

Just ZIP your CTB to post it here.

Unfortunately I'm stumped. I tried plotting your drawing using your exact settings and the lines came out bold for me.

Yeah i'm stumped too. The weird thing is that the preview shows different lineweights, but when it's actually printed to PDF using the inbuilt PDF printers, the lineweights are all the same. Since the preview shows it the way i want and since it does work using 'Microsoft Print to PDF', my guess there is something wrong with the inbuilt PDF printers. I also tried copying the printer driver (pdfplot16.hdi) from the good-computer to the problem-computer, but then the problem-computer doesn't recognize the copied printerdriver. maybe that's because the good-computer is windows 10, while the problem-computer is windows 11, I don't know for sure. I also tried to replace the pc3 file, that works but is no solution, the problem remains.

Have you checked if both computers and on the same update of AutoCAD?

Click on the little arrow ringed in the image below and then choose ABOUT AUTOCAD LT, to see if they are both running the same patched version

first of all, I really want to thank you for you time helping me 🙂

They are different versions. I first didn't understand why the good-computer has an older version, but i noticed that on the good-computer I wasn't signed in on autodesk access, therefore no updates. Maybe we can de-update (downdate?) the problem-computer's autocad version?

The name of the CTB in your ZIP does not match the one in the DWG file. Is that all this is about?

And Which PDF viewer are you using? in full screen in Adobe Acrobat and in BlueBeam, I see your lineweights just fine from your own PDF in the ZIP file

The settings in Bluebeam apparantly can be changed such that lineweights can be turned off. That was the problem, there was nothing wrong with autoCAD to begin with. So stupid. Thank you guys so much for your time. Lesson learned.
