Linetypes rendered differently from time to time and layout looks odd

I have a set of circuit diagrams with one external reference drawing. There is something odd with circuit diagram linetypes. Linetypes are rendered differently from time to time. I have attached pictures.zip which contais 2 pictures from the very same position where lines show differently when there was nothing done to them between the time they were looked. Pictures.zip also contains one screenshot from layout where the lines are drawn very thick. The other zip file includes external reference and the first circuit diagram of this project. These files where originally opened from .dgn and then saved as .dwg.

Is there something wrong with my autocad graphic settings or something wrong with the drawing?

Your drawing contains LINES and PLINEs with large LWEIGHT settings, and not the same width across the board either.

You can change them or set them to zero width using PROPERTIES command to change the category LINEWEIGHT to zero if that's all you want to do.

Let us know if there was something else.

I solved the problem with wrong showing lines in layout mode by unselecting "show/hide lineweight".

One problem still remains. Its how the lines are rendered to my screen. I attached acad1 and acad3 pictures. Acad1 shows the wrong rendering and acad3 shows how it should be. These screenshots were taken from the very same spots and between the time they were taken - there was nothing done in the drawing. Its still the same .dwg that I attached in first post.

Any idea why the lines are not showing how they should be?

What are your settings for CANNOSCALE, LTSCALE and MSLTSCALE in the two instances? Those control what you see.

I think the problem was not there

Unfortunately those variables control what you see unless you are changing the object's own linetype scale (PROPERTIES command, 4th entry from the top, it should always say 1.0 if you like to control linetype scales by other means).

I think I found whats changing how lines render to my screen. Right click anywhere in Model Space -> Options -> Display -> Display resolution -> Arc and circle smoothness was set to value 1000. I set it to 100 and everything looked normal again. Unfortunately this resolutions does not want to stay still at 100 as I set it. Once in a while it changes back to 1000 and lines look crap again. I need to manually adjust it back to 100 when this occurs. Ideas why it changes by itself?

I wonder if the number 1000 is buried somewhere in settings as default value and the program restores it after doing thing X?

VIEWRES command controls that setting: iI keep mine at 100 and I've not seen it change here.

I notified that each time I open cad, the viewres changes to 1000. Looking more to it, I believe that the viewres is not the real problem since commands: regen and regenall make things to look normal again. I think this problem might be related to GPU performance.

I have ~600€ GPU (Quadro M2000M) installed on my laptop. I looked to 3dconfig and took out a logfile there. Logfile said that my laptop is using CPU integrated Intel HD Graphics. It also said that "Your graphics card is unknown, run hardware acceleration at your own risk." After reading that I updated nearly 2 years old nvidia drivers to new (377.11). Then I made a rule there where it says autocad to automatically use Quadro M2000M. Opened 3dconfig again after reboot and view tune log now shows that autocads 3d device is Quadro M2000M.

Now drivers for GPU have been updated, rule to drivers has been created for autocad to use M2000M. But still 3d config gives me message: "Your graphics card is unknown, run hardware acceleration at your own risk." Also, when I read the tune log, it says that most of the features are unavailable or not applicable. Even though the performance gain for 2d planning is minor, I would like to see if this could solve the problem and I also think my company bought this GPU to be used rather than for a decoration

I'll attach the performance tuner log and screenshot of 3d config error message. Any ideas how to make autocad to recognize my main GPU right?

Sorry for troubling the forum so much. I've previosly used other CAD softwares and just started new job and this company uses autocad. These old farts here have stucked to 1990's with their autocad usage

Does turning off hardware acceleration do anything different?
Are REGENMODE or REGENAUTO variable (can't remember which one LT has) turned on?

At the moment it does not do anything since 95% of the features are not available or not appicable or and the rest are on software emulation only. So I cant really say. But I really believe that when these features are applied, this continuing need for regen or regenall will not be needed anymore. The need seems to take place especially when changing between layouts and zooming in or out.

REGENMODE is set to 1. Viewres -> Fastzoom is also set to 1.

I cant find AutoCAD LT 2014 from the site you linked.

I would at least like to test certified drivers which will actually be recognized by autocad to try solve this problem. Any ideas how to proceed?

I have now contacted nvidia customer support. I installed new drivers which they appointed to me. Did not solve the problem and suggested to contact autocad software developer team for this problem solving. Where can I do that?

Sadly LT2014 is no longer actively supported by Autodesk, and if you are not a paid subscriber with Autodesk there is no way for you to contact them for support. Explore support here https://www.autodesk.com/support-offerings/overview
