Layiso command locks all layers AutoCAD LT 2024

I have been using the Layiso and Layon command for many years.  Suddenly, after typing this command, all layers become locked.  

I tried to select settings on the layiso command line to turn VPfreeze off and Lockandfade to off...but all layers remain locked.  I attached a screen shot below.  I tried to manually un-lock all of the layers but they become locked again after closing the layer state drop-down

Familiar with Layiso, okay.

Suddenly? It should lock your layers (dependent your setting) after ending the object selection,

not suddenly after typing this command.

Please test it again.

And? Does it work or not?

Start LAYISO command, walk thru setting option.

Is it set to off or not, use Off. Is vpfreeze on or off?

You started the right command? Sorry that I am asking this, but sometimes, everyone make a mistake.

It's a possible problem, so I ask for.

Sure, it's on you to unlock layers.

We can see the UNDO statement.

And if you use the Layerproperties-palette, which is almost the muchg better choice for this task?

Or command line:

-LAYER _unl *

From fresh

1. Restart the program, open the file and set your layers like you want.

2. Check Layiso settings again

3. Try it again.

I unlocked all of the layers from the layer properties palette.  The layiso command seems to be working as before, but I cannot figure out why the layers locked...this is the second file that this occurred in...

I did select settings from the layer properties palette and turned 'lock and fade' to off and 'in paper space viewport use' to off as well...those were both on, dunno why.

You've already answered that yourself: You locked the layer using the Layiso command (which wasn't set to your liking).
Or have I misunderstood something?

..after you used Layiso with the wrong settings and by this step you locked the layers. Right?

Layiso settings are part of your Acad profile, not part of a drawing file.

That means: Something about your profile changed, perhaps some more settings than just layiso too.

OR, but I can't think so:

You used a tool (3rd party tools) what changed the setting, but that doesn't make sense.

@meb58 About the only thing I can replicate here in my own files in LT2024.1 is either you have the LOCK&FADE option active in LAYISO or your layers where locked ahead of time before starting

So dumb-question time: have you restarted your PC yet?

And if I might add, have you ever explored the right-click "isolate objects" tool yet? I prefer it myself when I don't need to see objects on other layers (those are "real commands" you can abbreviate too if you want)

I manually unlocked the layers in the file attached above.  Also, after opening the settings icon in the Layer Properties Palette, 'Lock and Fade' and 'In paper space viewport use' were both 'On'.  I do not know why.   However,  the motherboard died in my one year old workstation and I had to reinstall AutoCAD after the repairs were made...so, who knows...

Pendean, than you as always for these tips.  I have not tried any of the functions in the 'Isolate' palette.  I will experiment with those 'Object' options after reading up about them.

What I might find odd, is the Lock and Fade and In Paper Space Viewport Use were turned on in one file, but for once, this change did not appear universally in all drawing files...I checked a number of files.

If you just installed Acad from scratch, all your changed settings are gone.

New installed ACAD on a fresh hd = Default settings.

What change? Do you mean my statement is wrong?

You open File1 and check this setting, lock&fade is disabled, you go to File2 and checked this setting again and it was display OFF instead of lock&fade ? I would say: Impossible. But who knows.
