KIP 860 Plotter Support

Dear all,

we have recently upgraded to AutoCAD LT 2021 and since then we cannot fully plot on our plotter KIP 860.

On their support page (https://www.kip.com/download-apps-details.php#autocad_driver) there is no possibility to download driver for AutoCAD 2021 LT and they told us that there will not be any new versions.

If we try to install the drivers #1.0.25, the program tells us that the driver is not supported and does not allow us to install it. So we are using the generic Windows driver which does not allow us to properly print to A0 and A1 paper sizes. Even the print previews sometimes come out blank, sometimes the plotter just prints out a blank page or just a part of the image.

Is there a hope that new AutoCAD driver for KIP plotters will be issued? If not, we would need to download and use older versions of AutoCAD where we plotted without any problems. Can you please point us to a download location?

Many thanks for any help

Ivan

PLOT from AutoCAD to PDF, then use a PDF reader to print to your KIP plotter if you have a viable WindowsOS driver for it https://www.freeprinterdriverdownload.org/konica-minolta-kip-860-printer-driver-download/
Assuming you can't just do that in AutoCAD (Windows driver).

Hi, thank you for prompt reply.

Of course it is sometimes possible, but always tedious. But worse, the print quality this way is often unacceptable (comparing when we used older AutoCAD LT 2020 with the correct KIP driver).

And as I have mentioned before, using the generic Windows driver does not solve our problem. The results are similarly unsatisfactory.

That's unfortunate. Guess you'll have to keep LT2020 around for a couple of more years for plotting purposes before it falls off the old-version licensing list.

FWIW Autodesk is never going to create a driver for your plotter.

Hi Pendean,

I have to agree with your answer. So we must hope that KIP will update their ACAD plotter drivers. Many thanks.
