Keyboard "M" command prompts " MATCHPROP" not 'MOVE.... I want MOVE

Is there a precedence setting?

Sounds like someone has set up a command alias on your computer to make 'M' recognized as matchprop. Open your pgp file and at the bottom of the list you should see that matchprop has been added either delete that entry or add your own

M,     *MOVE

at the end of the file (later entries override earlier ones), then close and save the pgp file and run the 'REINIT' command. Take a look at this webpage for a visual run-through (just the first part, it goes into details on how to do this using express tools but that is only for full AutoCAD users)

Maybe keep an eye on the command line and check your input search options. Often used commands can make there way above the assigned commands.

I just moved from full Autocad 2000 to Autocad lt 2021. It seems 'm' for move only works in certain places for me. It works in modelspace, but in paper space it's iffy. It works on some items, but in particular if I try to move a viewport,  I have to resort to the right click menu and choose 'move'. I have found if I type in mm, enter, it will choose move. Otherwise it wants to choose maximize viewport. Is there a way to make the default for m always be move?

With all of the options available for executing commands, shutting off some options might help.

Also, read the post right above yours.
