Issues with blocks

Hi,

I have some issues with blocks. I am using AutoCAD LT 2017.

Previously created block with no issues in the past, has currently errors.

Some on the lines within the block has moved to a different location. Also, some of the lines visible within the block are not visible in model and layout space.

Does anybody have any idea what is wrong?

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

Joanna

Can you post the DWG file here so we can see. Otherwise, we are just guessing.

Thanks for the DWG file: but it still does not quite explain the problem.

Looking at your two door blocks for example, what's the exact issue again?

Those are two different block definitions.

If you select one of the blocks, then run the command BEDIT, it will take you into the block editor.

On the block named "door_950mm_plan" - there are at least two sets of geometry to this block and they are over a Billion units apart. See the grips selected below? (I added the dimension shown in the screenshot)

The geometry is there, it's just not where you want it to be.

Thank you for your response.

You explained very well the error! Those 2 elements should be together as a one unit.

The block was created in the past and used in different projects without any issues.

I don't know why and when the block modified itself?

Best regards,

Joanna

Hi,

Thank you for your response.

The problem is that created in the past a door block without errors (used in many projects) has issues now.

Part of the block moved to a different location and it is not as a one unit anymore.

I can correct the block, but I would like to know the reason why it happened.

I don't know why and when the block splits out to 2.

Please see the comment on the forum from others regarding the issue.

My best regards,

Joanna

Unfortunately, there is no history record saved in the drawing file, so your guess is as good as ours as to how this happened. You might be able to use the backup (.BAK) file, or an older autosave (.SV$) or autosave backup file (.BAK) to first, judge ±when this happened, and secondly, grab a good copy of the block saving you from having to fix the one in this drawing. Good luck.

That's about all you can do now.
