Is it possible to Xreference a drawing file made in Civil 3D into AudoCAD LT and have 3D entities remain visual?

We are looking to Xref in dwg files drafted in Civil 3D (containing contours and profiles) into AutoCAD LT. When we Xref the files containing 3D entities into another drawing and open it using AutoCAD LT the 3D entities disappear all together and the area they were in is surrounded by a large box indicating something should be there which cannot open. Is it possible to make it so the 3D entities can be Xref in and appear as lines rather than not appearing at all? Currently our only solution is to explode the entities before bringing in but this is not a practical solution. Any help would be appreciated.

You probably need to download the object enabler for civil 3D. Autocad LT can view 3D objects but Civil 3D has it's own set of object types and it needs this extra download to see them.

And you should also be aware that 3D objects in LT are still in 3D so snaps to objects will have different Z values which can sometimes cause issues you aren't expecting.

Thanks this appears to be what we needed.
