Importing PDF into AutoCAD

I have autocad lt 2016 and needing to import a pdf file. can this file be converted to an editable drawing in autcad lt 2016?

I can successfully import the pdf via the XR command, but its a static image that I can't edit. Any advice is greatly appreciated

Not in LT2016: you need LT2017 to convert Vector PDFs to DWG to be able to edit them.

Note that is you only have a raster PDF (from a scanner) nothing from Autodesk will do that: you will need to shop elsewhere for a converter.
