I have just purchased AutoCAD LT.

When trying to import an old AutoCAD file, the information is there however the lines do not appear in the model space. Hoping someone can help me ASAP.

When I open your dwg I get this message:

paullimapa_0-1757481093460.png

Looking at the XREF palette I see 3 jpg files not found:

paullimapa_1-1757481202653.png

Then your current layout looks like this:

paullimapa_2-1757481262219.png

Are you not seeing these objects?

Perhaps it's a graphics card compatibility issue.

Do the following:

At command prompt enter:
GFXDX12
0
Thats a zero, close & restart AutoCAD LT
If still no good, at command prompt enter:
GRAPHICSCONFIG
Select another option under 2D Display Settings
If still no good, at command prompt enter:
GRAPHICSCONFIG
Disable Hardware Acceleration
If still no good, try updating your graphics driver in windows

No, so I always click on ignore unresolved references.  They are to an old logo and they have never impacted me opening the drawing before.

My current layout does not look as you have shown.  My current layout is a black screen (see first attachment).

Then when I use the mouse to select a random area on the black screen the drawing appears (see second attachment).

It's almost like the layers are turned off.... but they aren't!

It's the same in the paper space.  When I hover the mouse over each of the tabs - I can see the drawing in the preview but then when I click

on the tab, the drawing disappears.

Did you try my proposed solution in my first reply ie: set Gfxdx12 = 0 then close and restart LT

FYI:  note that the alert msg I received is not “unresolved references” but “could not be located.” This occurs when you share a dwg containing references without including them. The way to share properly is to use the etransmit command which would include the dwg and all xrefs in a zip format.

I did try the Gfxdx12 = 0

Another perspective.  I only downloaded Autocad Lt a few days ago.

A friend who has AutoCad Lt 2016 opened the file.  They had no problems seeing the drawing.  I asked them to save the drawing and send it back to me however when I opened it.... nothing.

This tells me it is a setting within my program given that everyone else can see the drawing bar me.....

Yes I tried all of these….

The reference is a logo. It is not important to the drawing.

Latest AutoCAD LT’s graphics engine is not the same as the much older 2016 LT. So what you are experiencing is typically caused by the graphics card incompatibility.

@kristypopplewell There is nothing wrong with your file here either.

Have you installed the 2026.1 Update yet? ABOUT command in your AutoCAD will confirm what you have installed. If not, get it from your Autodesk Account Page here https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates
Restart your PC afterwards please.

Assuming you left  GFXDX12 variable set to 0 (that's a zero): consider turning off LINESMOOTHING and LINEFADING variables.

If still no relief then start GRAPHICSCONFIG command and change the 2D Display Settings pulldown from "advanced mode" to one of the other choices.

If all else fails, then turn off Hardware Acceleration as a last resort, does that help?

If not, start a support ticket through your subscription portal as explained at the link below here, you have something else going on that remote help from over here may not fix it for you
