I am unable to activate my newly purchased software

Anonymous
Not applicable

I downloaded the new version of AutoCAD LT. After installation, I entered the serial number and went to activate the software. On the activation screen, it said the serial number was invalid. I've checked it 10 times now. I have the right serial number but I can no longer get to the activation page. I go to open the software and I get the attached window. If I hit "quit", I am kicked out of the software.

Truthfully, I really just want a phone number to call and talk to someone. If anyone knows how to do that, it would be easier than trying to decipher this website (which I've been attempting for the last hour).

I get the same message when trying to activate my AutoCAD LT 2015 on my Mac! I buy a new computer. Purchase AutoCAD. Install it. Then we go to register and use the product. It's almost impossible to find a phone number to speak to somebody! When I finally hunt down a customer service phone number, I’m told somebody might contact me within 24 - 48 hours. Are you serious? Horrible customer service!!!! I need myAutoCAD to work. These people at Autodesk don't care! They have my money! Now that I have paid for their product, they will try to get back with me to actually activate it on my computer when they feel like it. Apparently in 2 - 48 hours!!!!!! What a sorry company! I HAVE CREATED A CASE AND BEEN E-MAILED A CASE NUMBER! THAT DOESN'T HELP THE FACT THAT I HAVE WORK TO DO AND I CAN'T DO IT BECAUSE I CAN'T ACTIVATE MY SUBSCRIPTION! Thanks Autodesk!

Hi @Anonymous,

Sorry to hear about the issue. I have submitted a resync for your account, which can take up to 24 hours (usually much less). Let me know after that, if this does not fix your issue, as I am happy to help. You will know you have permission, when your name appears in the user management section of your account.

@Anonymous your account appears to be working properly, you just needed permission.

Please note, there is a processing time for new licenses. It sometimes takes up to 24 hours to process. You can run AutoCAD as a trial for a few days then register it later, while waiting for your order to go through.

Hello @matthew.d,

Thank you for getting back to me although I'm really not sure what your reply means for me getting access to the software. Can you please provide detailed steps that I should follow to correctly activate the license?

Hi @Anonymous,

You should be able to activate your software now, when you install. Give it a try and let me know if you have any issues, as I am happy to help.

Matt,

I hope you can help me out as well.  I am experiencing a similar issue.  I purchased a monthly subscription last Friday (12/4/15) and the install went great.  I was able to access the software right away and get some work done.  I am not sure what happened over the weekend.  I received the attached error message this morning.  I contacted Autodesk and was passed around 3 or 4 times.  I feel like it is a simple fix but cannot figure it out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated?

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the community!

Sorry to hear about the issue. For whatever reason your contract start date was for next year, you can't use the product if your contract hasn't started. I have gone ahead and adjusted the start date to today. It looks like your account has already updated and you should be good to go.

I am having same problem. I ran the free trial for 30 days which has now expired. I purchased AutoCAD LT 2016 but when trying to activate I am being told to ' Contact your administrator to request permission to use this product' but cannot get any further.

I I try to activate via the free trial version I am being told that my Serial Number and Product Key do not match.

Have spent two days trying to resolve and cannot get on with any work.

Many thanks but it would now appear that there was a conflict between the trial version and the full version.

Now resloved.

Hi @apenfold448,

Have you tried updating your serial number in the trial yet? Could you be more specific about this conflict? Sorry for the trouble.

Yes I did try every combination I could think of.

If seems that the trial version and the purchased version were causing conflict.

Uninstalled both and reinastalled purchased version.

Seems ok so far.

Many thanks.
