how to print to a file, the contents of the list command

Hi,

I have a dwg file with about 750 georeferenced items - all closed polygons.  I want to determine the areas of these polygons using the list command, but want to write them to a file.  Is this possible with Autocad 2000 LT?

Many thanks,

Ali

You Can Use the Acad logfile an command LIST
Search F1 for Logfilemode Logfileon ...

In a Texteditor you can erase unneeded Information (search and replace),
a Texteditor with Macrorecorder is useful

One example:

LT2000 is old, so hopefully this works as it does in newer versions:

Start AREA command, then ADD sub-options, then OBJECT sub-option, now select all your polygons. It should give you the total.

Now copy/paste from the text-screen into an outside file if you don't want to use the more cumbersome LOGFILEON method described above.

If you are trying to create some some of BOM sheet and automate the process, there is no practical way to do that in LT2000.
