how to delete a proxy entity??

I am trying to work with a drawing from another company. It is loaded with something called "ACAD_PROXY_ENTITY"& it's driving me batty. There are thousands of them, and I've tried everything I can think of, as they will not erase in a normal way. If I explode them, they can be erased, but there are always more underneath, the same goes with wblocking them out, it's turning into a colossal waste of time I don't have. I'm using LT 2016. Any suggestions appreciated.

You want to delete all of Proxy Object?.

I recommend using the command -EXPORTTOAUTOCAD.

It creates new drawing file with Exploded Proxy entity.

This is Link about the command.

Thanks for your response. I tried this and it was very cumbersome because
of extreme nesting of the entities. I executed the command over 20 times
and still had tons of the proxies. Finally I found I could use “Quick
Select” to pick all of them, Isolate them on a discrete layer, freeze the
layer, and then at last was able to WBlock the rest of the drawing out.
What an ordeal!

Post the file, let's all have a look for ourselves.

It closes the whole drawing. No matter what I do, the drawing closes. Exporttoautocad, Delete, Cut, Explode, etc. Nothing works.

@Anonymous Use WBLOCK command to grab all the modelspace content you wish to keep, and create a new file.
Use RECOVER command to open that new file, then QSAVE.

Ignore the original file moving forward.

Hi!

It works with my file,

it is no problem with my data!

My data are of no interest to you because it has to work with yours?

Then think about it again and come to the result: Without your DWG,

nobody can make a specific statement about your data;)

Share your file!

Generally speaking:
You can explode and delete graphic proxy elements if the manufacturer of the software (the missing application) has allowed this.
If you find an ObjectEnabler, the same applies to this one.

When it comes to non-graphic data, it becomes more difficult to
ExportToAutoCAD is the right command (if you have an ObjectEnabler installed),
but even this does not remove all dares in all cases.
Just as an example: Civil3D can leave entries which cannot be cleaned up.
