How do I make a block act like a polyline

In my previous job I used to use AutoCAD Architecture where we would use wall blocks that would merge together, and would act as polylines when selecting them from the tool palette. These would also be 3D and you could easily insert doors into them.

My new role used AutoCAD LT so does not have the 3D function. Is there anything I can do to create a similar block in AutoCAD LT? I find individually drawing all of the walls in line by line fairly tedious!

You could make a dynamic block with a built in door or window that could be moved to any location along the wall. There could be a stretch parameter included so one side of the wall is shorter than the other to meet a 90° corner. Check on the dynamic block forum.

ACAD commands that would make it easier aren't available in LT. Best suggestion for walls is the pline and offset commands for parallel lines then use the trim command, fence option to clean up the insides of the walls.

The reduced feature set of LT is why it is 1/4 the price of ACAD.
