Was any of the hatching done on a different version of Autocad? I have
seen this happen with old drawings done on 2000i and revisited on 2004
and 2008. Apparently autocad looks at the name of the pattern, finds the
first pattern in its list with the same name and even if the pattern
isn't the same, will apply the angle and scale to the pattern with
different results than expected. Also can happen if there is more than
one pattern with the same name. If you select one from the list it will
use the one you select, but if you match it will use the first one it
finds. Unfortunately Autocad doesn't warn you of the fact that 2
patterns have the same name.
