Hatch not working

spnz

Explorer

Autocad lt has been working alright for the last couple of years(I say alright as it can be a little glitchy).

However a couple of weeks ago it decided that hatching wasn't it's thing.  It won't even hatch a rectangle.

I've tried a reinstall

I've checked all lines to ensure they're no dashed or have gaps. It thinks there's gaps when there isn't.

I've tried regen, redraw, overkill, etc.

I've tried changing the number of points allowed.

I've tried changing the UCS point and angles

I've tried changing to a simpler hatch....

Nothing.

Please help as this is my business and I just wasted a whole day trying to sort it out.

TIA

Luke

shot in the dark 'cause this is something we had to do many versions back but at the command prompt enter this:

(getenv"MaxHatch")

If AutoCAD returns a smaller # than this: "1000000"

then enter the following:

(setenv"MaxHatch""1000000")

@spnz Tweaking the tip offerd by @paullimapa for it to work in LT: at the commandline, type the following commands and tap <enter> in between
GETENV
MAXHATCH
What gets reported?

You are welcome to post screenshots of your ABOUT command pop-up and share a problem DWG file where you know you hatched an area in a new blank file but nothing shows up while the commandline is 5-10lines tall so you can see AutoCAD's feedback, then let us know if you tried the fix of thawing/turning on ALL the layers to find your hatches.

It say the they are unknown commands.

I've found that old files work and this new file doesn't .

Thanks Paul

Attached. Please excuse the messy layout. This one was just for some hazardous area zones. figuring out what will work on a site mainly.

Yes it works if you make a square or circle(usually, not always) however, if you attempt to hatch inside those arcs to the left, you'll see it won't work. I'm usually running a diagonal line hatch at 1500 scale.

I had to retrace the arcs because AutoCAD cannot find the boundary the way they're drawn so no boundary then no hatch...domino effect...but in either case, the hatch command is working

Ok thanks. I'll try retracing them.

It still isn't working for me. I can understand why, it makes no sense. If, for instance I move one of those circle within the area you just hatched outside of the area, hatch says that it can't find a boundary.

I'm not having any of these issues.

looks like you're rotated up a bit

perhaps set ucs to world and then plan and try again

I've tried that before. Just tried rest to world. Still nothing. This is Autocad LT in case that matters.

I've attached another screen shot. It will hatch these two boxes but not the rest.

If I zoom out and hatch where the pointer is in this rectangle still no go however it puts a couple of circles thinking there's gaps. However it makes no sense where they're placed.

Difference could be I’m not testing this in LT. Perhaps someone else who uses LT can test for you. What version is your LT?  Also I assume you are selecting the Circle as the Boundary and not picking Point. Also may want to test by using Bpoly command to help generate a Pline as Boundary.

2021

As I've found my old files are working fine. I may have revert to one of those. Would be nice to figure it out though.

It doesn't seem to recognise that those circle are even there. Could just those lines be on a funny axis. I might try redoing the circles under 'world'. See what happens

got it I think. Those circle werent flat, then I'd used offset meaning the arc weren't flat.

Thanks so much for you time. You're a good person. Hopefully I've got it figured.

In case it matters. I found that If I draw in world hatch works fine. However certain UCS to change the angle causes it to not find a boundary. I've ensured it's flat. So yeah, problem wasn't really solved.
