I have blocks with attributes where I would like to have a halo around the text attribute (the block entity it describes is easy enough to place a white background around!). The halo around the block would allow it read better against a backdrop such as an aerial image.

Is there a way within LT to do this with or without some time of add on or utility that LT supports? I know other versions of Autocad can support routines to accomplish this but I am constrained to LT for now.

Being limited to LT probably means you're going to have to manually do it. Here are some suggestions. Be sure to look at the other threads linked inside of there.

If you make the attribute a multiline attribute you can use the "Background Mask" function of MTEXT
