FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Violation Reading 0x0080 Exception at 994f1161h

Hello,

I received the following error on a PC I'm supporting, I'm trying to get down to the exact cause of the issue. The program had been working fine all day and then again after the error once the application was restarted.

The file appears to be fine, as there have been no reports of an issue with the file itself.

Can anyone help me get the root cause of this issue?

Thanks in advance!

What triggered the error?
Can you repeat it on demand?
What version of LT are you running?
What version of WIndows is it installed in?

That's a generic error message: find the cause/trigger to solve it if it happens often, if it's a one-off it's pointless wasting time with it.

Hi @Anonymous,

I see that you are visiting as a new member to the AutoCAD LT forum. Welcome to the Autodesk Community!

While not the only possibility, I suspect that this might be a graphics driver issue.  Can you tell me the OS, Graphics card make and model, and also the version of AutoCAD LT that is on the computer?

Is the application fully updated and patched?

Hello thank you.

The machine is running AutoCAD LT 2017 (Fully updated) this was recently installed as AutoCAD LT 2018 had been installed before, but this had kept crashing and freezing. But there were previously no issues error messages being displayed.

Details of Machine are:

 3.6 GHz Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-1650 v4 @ 3.60GHz (1, 6 cores, 64bit)

16 GB RAM

Windows 10

AMD FirPro 4100

There has also been another error message now, (This was shown when opening a file created within Revit)

Hi @Anonymous

I suggest looking for a different graphics driver from AMD

Do you also happen to have an HP Designjet 500 driver installed? This might also cause this error.

Hi Thanks for your reply.

We have now completely wiped the reinstalled the PC. However, it appears the issue still remains.... I am stuck for ideas on this now, but feel that it could be a hardware issue on the GPU.

Is there anything further you would recommend trying?

Hi @Anonymous,

Since a rebuild of the OS didn't fix this I suggest trying a diagnostic startup to see if AutoCAD behaves better. It is quite possible that another program is conflicting with it.

Do you have the chance to submit a report when the crash happens? If so, can you tell me the CER number? This might give us more detail on what is happening.

You can also send me an NFO file.
