Extracting Data

Is there any possible way to extract data from a drawing without having the wanted items being an attribute. Possibly extracting the data using the "handles" of the wanted data?? Basically what I would like is to extract dimensions of a particular drawing to say a spreadsheet, so a .csv would be fine. Any insight on this would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Unless you buy additional third party software (probably written
especially for you), there are only two way to export data about
drawing objects from LT to a text file.

Option one is to use the log file which takes everything that appears
in the text window. Start logging, then use the LIST command to
protocol the properties of selected objects. End logging and use the
log file. It's not pretty formatted, but extracting the needed
information shouldn't be too complex.

Option two is to use the DXF output from LT. The DXFout command
creates a formatted text file containing everything AutoCAD knows
about the selected entities. This file is easy to read using programs
in Basic or the like. The DXF file format is documented in the LT help
files (though you may want to read additional explanations like the
book below).
