Can anyone tell me why I randomly get this message when I'm in Page Setup? I've tried everything I know. I've restarted AutoCAD, Saved as a new .ctb file, nothing works. It will let me edit the line-types but no matter what I try it won't save them and gives up this error instead.

Delete the CTB file, copy one of the core ones like MONOCHROME, rename it and edit it: still have an issue? If yes, open the MONOCHROME.CTB, change one thing, any thing, ans save/close, does that work? If it fails as well, you appear to not have write abilities in that older from Windows.

Thank you for your reply. I will try that this morning and let you know what happens. The odd thing is I edited that same file many times before it started giving me the error.

I tried that and it worked. I am still concerned about what caused this to happen. This is the second or third time this has happened. Instead of deleting the old ctb file I just created new ones to get me back going again. I appreciate your help for sure.

No idea, could be you have a backup that is restoring an old bad copy, or it could be a hiccup saving the file after you edit it.

How often to do you edit this CTB? We only ever touch ours when we get a new printer or plotter (once in a blue moon so to speak), rarely any other time.

Honestly over the last 2 weeks it has happened twice but when it does it's just a pain more than anything.

Also, another weird thing that is happening; when I select an object to move let's say, while the object is selected and if I toggle ortho, AutoCAD locks up. I have to then Control Alt Delete and simply cancel to get it unlocked.

Turn off hardware acceleration in GRAPHICSCONFIG command and see if that stops the lockup.

Hey guys. This problem it still bugging me. Now, it will not save any canges to an existing ctb file. I have to create a new ctb file every time I need to change something with the line-types. Also, It will not let me delete the old ctb files that I had created. Any ideas?

Is your Windows log in at the Admin or network Admin level, or just user level?
I believe your OS is locking you out of saving files to that location: you can always create a new location for your CTBs.

What would you recommend as far as creating a new location for these files?

We use a shared folder location in our office, you could do the same if you are sharing or do so on your own PC in a folder you can read/write/delete/rename in.

Something like C:/Lonnie/Styles

Then add that full folder address to LT's search path in OPTIONS command, Files Tab, Printer Support File Path, Plot Style Table Search Path entry (add button is on the right side of that pop-up).
