Editing Hatch PAT File

Trying to load custome hatch patterns I've found on the internet and downloaded. I have AutoCADLT 2016, newly setup on my home computer. I open the acadlt.pat file to paste the hatch routine into the bottom of the file. When I hit save, it says "ACCESS IS DENIED". I made sure in the security setting that I have permission to alter the file, and it still isn't working. Does anyone know what I may be doing wrong, or is there another way to load custom hatch patterns into CAD other than editing the PAT file?

Which ACADLT.PAT file did you open exactly, what folder was it in on your PC?

Here is the file path: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD LT 2016\UserDataCache\en-us\Support

Perhaps this is incorrect? I have never before tried to add hatch patterns so I looked it up online and followed a tutorial instructing to use that file path.

No, those are the backup files. These are the instructions from Autodesk: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to...

The active in use PAT file you seek is buried under your Windows Profile, for me in Win7 it's here:
C:\\users\\YOURLOGIN\\appdata\\roaming\\autodesk\\autocadlt 2016\\r22\\enu\\support\\acadlt.pat
