I like to move and stretch objects by starting the command and then typing "PER" mid-command to be able to quickly snap to a reference line and have my selected objects either move or stretch perpendicularly. I understand I can move perpendicularly, but sometimes the drawing is dense and I am moving quickly and prefer to do it this way. This is all well and good.
My question is, is there a way to change the actual typing of "PER" (associated marco "_per " to say "D" or something simple on the left side of the keyboard as a mid-command command. I went to the CUI and found the "Snap, Perpendicular" command, subsequently messing with the macro and command display name, to no avail. Clearly I am missing something. I also opened the acadlt.pgp where I know I can change hotkeys, but unfortunately that command does not live in there either.
I work in polar and would like to keep it that way. I do not want to toggle Ortho mode to do this, because I also use the "Nearest" object snap, which renders Ortho irrelevant.
Anyway, I hope this question is clear enough to know what I am asking and someone can offer a solution for something which is over my head. Thanks in advance!
