Drawing Text on an Arc/Circle in LT

Can I draw text on an arc or radius/circle in LT?

Thanks

Hi @rayb007,

Did @pendean's link get you going on text aligned on a curve? If not, I can take a look at what you are trying to produce. Can you share your drawing and what you want to create?

I usually do this process fairly manually as a divide or measure doesn't take into account kerning of letters but it certainly can get you started.

Another great way to get this to work in AutoCAD LT is to use Array and select the path option.  I usually do this with a wide letter such as a W. Once I have it arrayed, I can then explode and modify the text.

Thanks John! Sorry it's taken me so long to respond. I actually performed the operation in software that I program our cnc with. I will at some point go back and work in AutoCad to learn what you've explained.

Thanks again for your help. This is a very responsive way of getting answers to my questions and I appreciate all the help this service provides.

Hi @rayb007,

I am glad this method of support works well for you. I made a short video to show the array method of placing text along a path. I hope this helps.

I found an especially easy way to accomplish this task.  One that doesn't require making blocks or using the array tool.  I did this by making a polygon (circumscribed about circle option) that is the diameter of the arc of the letters to be.  Increasing or decreasing the amount of sides on the polygon depending if I wanted less or more spaces between the characters.  Then I used the single line command with the start point on the midpoint of a side then the endpoint of the side and typed one letter.  You have to make one letter(single line text) per flat.  This worked for me, though i had to rotate the feature to create another text feature 180 degrees from each other.

Easy solution to remember for me!

I could post a few screen shots too if this explanation wasn't the greatest too.

This method doesn't work with words, It uses individual letters that are not connected in any way.
