drawing name in taskbar

Hi,

When opening another instance of Autocad, the drawing name is no longer shown on the taskbar.

Is this a Cad  or a Windows "property"?

Hi Imui,

I don't think this is a mistake. It will show the dwg name as soon as you open a second drawing.

Do you need the drawings to show the names on the taskbar right away? The name also is in the quick info when you hover over the symbol in the taskbar.

If you disagree, I am happy to do some research to confirm.

Best regards

Hi,

Thanks for your response.

You're right. It will show the dwg name after opening a second drawing.

It would be nice, and help me orient better, if the name is clearly there.

I often open a second instance of Autocad to compere or to copy objects from "left to right".

Why start a second AutoCAD session? Are you not aware you can simply had two or more two files open in their own windows side by side in one session of AutoCAD? It's been around for 15+ versions now.

This is how i make use of 2 monitors.
And it's easier to have a "static" dwg on a side and on the other side another instance with two or more drawings

Still using Lt2016 in Windows 7? How many separate instances of the LT program are you running exactly (and why)?

Not seeing any issues here in Win10Pro LT2023.1.2

And why are you not able to use WIndows' on feature to find each separate open session's file name either (when you hover on one the actual window moves front and center to show file name here in Win10)

@JohnC_ISM You'll need to ask Autodesk for that feature, Open a support case with Autodesk if you are on subscription to seek out Autodesk Support's help:

I didn't realize that we had already talked about this on another post i think. Im getting a new computer anyways because this one is giving me so many issues with everything. So ill see if its just my desktop or my program at that point.

@JohnC_ISM Congrats on the new PC: hope it's Win11, it has a different look and may offer more features than WIn10 that you might enjoy more.
