disappearing objects using copy and move command

I'm having issues with AutoCad Lt 2020. When I use the move or copy commands the object I', copying or moving disappears. I then have to hit undo and select the object again. A lot of times the object will disappear multiple times when I try and use the command the second and third time. I've been a daily user of Autocad since 1995 and have never had a problem like this. It is slowing me down too much. I've read similar posts and tried turning off hardware acceleration and checked the graphics mode for Auto but nothing has changed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

1) If you zoom out and look around, do you find the objects?
2) Does this happen in ALL files, or just this one file? Even if you start a new file?
3) Your ABOUT command pop-up says what about your exact version of the program?
4) Your OS is what please?

When you say "When I use the move or copy commands the object I', copying or moving disappears" - that could mean different things.

It could mean that as you start to drag the objects from their original location to their new location, the objects disappear from the screen/cursor (mid-command).

It could mean that you are able to successfully move/copy the objects to the new location, but as the command ends, they disappear.

Both of those presume you are using the cursor to move/copy the objects.

You could also be using polar or relative or absolute coordinates to move/copy in which case you would need to state that.

But seeing it in action with a screencast (which also displays your keystrokes) is most helpful

No, I do not find the object after it disappears. I have to use undo to bring it back to see it.  This happens in all files lately. This started a few months ago. First I thought it was me going too fast through the command. Now its got worse where I lose about 1/2 hr a day "undoing" to complete the task.  My operating system is Microsoft Windows {version 10.0.19044.164}

Also post a screenshot of your ABOUT command and your GRAPHICSCONFIG command pop-ups here please (or have them pop-up in your recording for a few seconds each for all to see).

Expand your commandline to be 5-10 lines tall for the rest of the week, then the next time something vanishes see if there is a message from the program about what took place in that commandline area. Then UNDO.

Tagging on to this thread because I noticed the same thing today.

It happens in all dwg files I tried, with different mice, PICKFIRST on 0 or 1, and in 2023 LT and 2025 LT, both of which are up to date.

If I COPY an object, and right click while doing so, I get the Command shortcut menu.

If I MOVE an object, and right click while doing so, the object moves on its own.

I’ve attached a screen capture of this.  It will look odd because my Windows screen recorder does not seem to capture my Command Line or contextual short cut menus. 

So, I attached to the drawing snips of the Command shortcut menu, and the Command line history for everything including the first move.  In the video, I undo and move again, the second move is not in the Command line history, but the history is identical.

Not a huge issue for me as I never seem to need to right click when moving an object, but I am curious if anyone else can see this.  I am zoomed way out to see the line move.

Assuming you've restarted your PC already and this still happens and your LT is fully updated... your next step is you reset your LT2025 @jskalaXDDX5

Thanks, fully updated and restarted before posting.  Just curious if others can access the Command contextual menu while using the MOVE Command.  It seems like others also can not.  Can you?

Sure I can, so can everyone else in our offices: did you turn on this in OPTIONS and are fighting it because you forgot a right-click-HOLD is now needed to bring up that menu?

If not, you'll need to reset your AutoCAD to rule out personal customizations breaking your setup first.

Changing Command Mode as above solved the problem I was curious about but didn't have.  Perhaps that will help others.

I guess I would disagree.  The Default Initial value of SHORTCUTMENU is 11,

Which makes the Default settings of Right Click Customization.

Changing the value of SHORTCUTMENU to 7 also solves the problem, if a problem actually exists. 

So, lack of a personal customization?

If it is important that an inanimate computer software program somehow contain moral imperative then the fault must somehow be mine and I gladly accept irrelevant censure.
